FMPU Core Values

For a More Perfect Union (FMPU) is a 501(c)(4) rooted in the following 5 governing principles:

1. Separation of Faith & State

FMPU believes that America should be about the union of people from all races, religions, and diverse backgrounds, and that religion should remain a personal choice, separate from the state. Citizens should be allowed to practice freely in their private space, with complete freedom and without prejudice. The state shall not tacitly, explicitly, or by willful inaction endorse or provide access to public resources to any religion, religious entity or organization unless it is done on the basis of equality and justice.

2. Protection of Freedoms Granted in the U.S. Constitution

We find these truths to be self-evident: that all Americans have the right to free speech, right to privacy, right to vote, and the right to freedom and pursuit of happiness. FMPU recognizes that there is an organized effort to cripple the freedoms that the Constitution guarantees. There’s a general lack of awareness among Americans about the diminishing state of such freedoms. FMPU commits to increasing awareness, enacting change, and instilling confidence on behalf of the citizens of the U.S. and their representative government.

3. Foundation as a Nation of Immigrants

FMPU emphasizes that this is a nation of immigrants, and it is an existential threat to the integrity of the union to bar immigrants from entering the U.S. seeking freedom from persecution or pursuing happiness. FMPU pledges to uphold the promise made by America and written beneath the feet of the statue of liberty: “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

4. Safety of America in Connection with the World

FMPU seeks the peace and stability of the world as a whole, and recognizes that a safer America is impossible without a safer world. FMPU recognizes that America lives as part of a diverse world. The U.S. is a leader among the community of nations. Therefore, FMPU stands for establishing robust diplomatic, cultural, and economic relations with the world and advocates peaceful, innovative, and mutually beneficial solutions to solving the economic, social, political, and environmental challenges we face in our time.

5. Equity & Equality in Economic Opportunities

FMPU seeks equal opportunity among all races, genders, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. FMPU will work to level the playing field in regards to economic opportunities and political participation.
